I have shared my home with a pet for as long as I can remember. As a child we had dogs, cats, horses, chickens, ducks, and even a cow or two. I attended many chicken, duck and dog funerals under a box elder tree with my sister Sheila officiating who died from cancer at 67.

Dec. 24th, 2014 (Christmas Eve) I lost my little Willie. The picture above is of him the evening before as he was swiftly fading. I miss that sweet Chihuahua. A few months later we acquired Lillie, a long haired Chihuahua with a very bossy personality that took some getting use to. Ellie our senior pompoo was terribly lonely and depressed  after Willie died, she needed a companion.

When I had to have Willie put to sleep they made me a print of his paw in clay, so sweet. I have the small print in clay on my bookcase. I wish I would have been able to have his ashes in glass but I had yet to learn the art. It was Christmas eve and we decided to bury him on our land with our pets that we lost before him. Our sweet Ellie has since died just short of 16 years old! We now have a very lovable ragdoll cat named Smudge to keep Lillie company.
